To change your password, fill out and submit the form below. It will take a few seconds to process and will inform you if the change has been successful. If you have modified your system prompt, you may have difficulty using this form.

Password Rules

  1. Password must be between 6 and 8 characters.
  2. Password must contain at least two alphabetic characters and at least one numeric or special character within the first 6 characters.
  3. Password must differ from the user's login name and any reverse or circular shift of that login name is disallowed.
  4. Password cannot be user's first or last name.
  5. Password must differ from the old by at least three characters.
  6. Password must not have been changed within the last three days.

If you are having trouble with this form...

Background: The cgi script takes the user's username and password, automates an ssh session to the chosen server, and runs the passwd command in the user's account as though they were logged in themselves.

Possible reasons for unsuccessful password changes:

Users who have customized their shell prompt may have trouble with this page as a customized prompt breaks the connection.
