Council of Academic Administrators Notes:
Amended the Maximum Academic Load Policy This policy was amended to change the number of credits that require approval of the dean from 18 to 19. FROM: "The maximum course load is 21 hours for a regular semester. Students are advised not to take more than 18 hours without a compelling reason and a cumulative GPA four-tenths of a point above 2.0 for each extra hour desired. To register for more than 18 hours, a student must seek permission from his or her dean’s office." TO: "The maximum course load is 21 hours for a regular semester. Students are advised not to take more than 19 hours without a compelling reason and a cumulative GPA four-tenths of a point above 2.0 for each extra hour desired. To register for more than 19 hours, a student must seek permission from his or her dean’s office." The amendment was approved unanimously. Council of Academic Administrators Notes:
Taylor Medals Council members were reminded that this information is confidential at this time. There was a discussion about the process of selection and the criteria. It was noted that some schools have developed their own standards. The Council asked that a Committee be appointed to review the criteria and selection standards. The hope is that this will increase transparency and improve the consistency of the standards used in the selection process. The minutes were approved unanimously (Clark/Rholes)
