A. Motion passed: Graduate Council will only carry out votes during in-person meetings and not by electronic voting nor by email. B. Graduate Council dealt with two urgent items by email vote between the September and October scheduled regularly-scheduled meeting. 1. Proposed to change the name of the "Meek School of Journalism and New Media" to the "School of Journalism and New Media". Approved 7-0-0 by e-vote carried out between 9/25/2018 and 9/26/2018. 2. Creation of the Haley Barbour Center for the Study of American Politics which will be housed in the Department of Political Science. Approved 5-2-1 by e-vote carried out between 10/10/2018 and 10/12/2018. See attached file describing the center (Appendix 12).
