Announcements: Chancellor Jones approved the following minutes: Minutes of Undergraduate Council meeting on 6/4/2010 Minutes of Undergraduate Council meeting on 5/7/2010 Minutes of Undergraduate Council meeting on 9/03/2010 Minutes of Undergraduate Council meeting on 8/18/2010 Honors 550 was approved by Undergraduate Council on August 18, 2010, and Honors 551 was approved by Undergraduate Council on September 3, 2010. Although the Graduate Council denied the addition of the courses at their meeting on September 17, 2010, it was decided to present the courses to the Council of Academic Administrators for further review. Course Changes, Additions, Deletions College of Liberal Arts English, Modern Languages, Music, Psychology, Public Policy Leadership On a motion by Dr. Irvin and a second by Dr. Wachter, the course changes were approved unanimously. Change of Program School of Engineering Dr. Joel Kuszmaul represented the School of Engineering and presented the attached Diploma Application procedures for the students under Additional Meeting Notes. The proposal is to move the B.S. in Geology degree program from the College of Liberal Arts to the School of Engineering. The Curriculum and Policy Committee of both the College of Liberal and the School of Engineering have approved the move. The motion was unanimously approved on a motion by Dr. Wenger and a second by Dr. McCaffrey. Course Changes, Additions, Deletions Meek School of Journalism and New Media- On a motion by Dr. Wegner and a second by Dr. Shaw to remove the prerequisites for Jour 376 and a change that required all Journalism students to take Jour 271 and 375 were considered. A friendly amendment was added to delete the phrase for Journalism majors only in Jour 375 by Dr. Shaw, and the motion passed unanimously. Other Items Deletion of B. S. in Geology Degree from the College of Liberal Arts The change was approved in conjunction with the change of program to the School of Engineering. CLEP Credit Upon a motion by Dr. Irvin and a second by Dr. McCaffrey, the revision to the English CLEP examination credit was unanimously approved. Change Minor in Linguistics - On a motion by Dr. Shaw and a second by Dr. Rutherford, a change to the requirements for the minor in Linguistics was unanimously approved. The Council adjourned at 1:40 p.m.
