Dr. Vicky Dickinson represented the School of Accountancy. Dean Glenn Hopkins and Dr. Robert Cummings were visitors and spoke in favor of the proposal to create a Department of Writing and Rhetoric.

Additional Minutes Notes
The Update of International Baccalaureate Credit from the College of Liberal Arts was removed from the agenda at the request of Dean Hopkins. (It is indicated as denied below, but it was really removed from the agenda.) The change in Envs 385 was tabled to ask for clarification as to the number of times the course can be repeated for credit (e.g., one repeat or multiple repeats). All other items were approved unanimously, with one abstaining vote for the proposed Department of Writing and Rhetoric. The student appeal from Benjamin Tucker was approved with a modification to allow only that coursework taken after one calendar year following his second dismissal to transfer back to UM. The course change for IMC 509 was approved with the understanding that this course can be repeated for credit an indefinite number of times.
